About Us

Our Mission
Advocacy Through Art aims to use art to foster awareness regarding important issues in the youth community. Through the learning of new ideas and techniques, we strive to create conversations while helping others to discover their inner artist.
Who We Are
We are a collective of Bay Area high schoolers who are passionate about using art to facilitate conversations regarding important issues in our community.

Our Story
Art and advocacy have always been intertwined. From Keith Haring and the AIDS Epidemic to Suzanne Lacy and Second-Wave Feminism, artists have used art as a way to spark conversations about issues important to them.
In May 2020, the art from the Black Lives Matter Movement sparked artists around the world to stand in solidarity with the Black community.
Advocacy Through Art was inspired by these artists and artists before them to use art as a medium to initiate conversations within our local community. Starting in Palo Alto and expanding into the greater Bay Area, Advocacy Through Art hopes to help enact change in the community.
